Privacy policy

The short version: DugOut keeps everything you enter on your own device. We don't have accounts, we don't collect your team's information, and we don't use ads or tracking.

Who we are

DugOut is made and run by P. Knight in Australia. You can contact us at dugoutapp@proton.me.

What DugOut stores, and where

When you use DugOut, the information you enter is saved in your web browser's storage on that device. This includes:

• team names, and players' names, nicknames, numbers and position ratings
• games, scores, lineups, innings, pitch counts and any stats you enter
• lineup plans, and best-player votes and the coaches' PINs
• your settings, such as colours and pitching rules

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, and we don't keep a copy.

When information leaves your device

Only when you choose to send it:

• Sharing a roster or plan by QR code, file or text sends it to another device. Rosters include names, numbers and position ratings. Votes and stats are never included.
• Backup files and exported files are saved where you choose. A backup contains everything, including votes and PINs, so keep it somewhere safe.
• Printing or sharing a report sends it wherever you choose to send it.

If you send something by message, email, Bluetooth or another app, that service's own privacy terms apply to it.

Children's information

DugOut is for coaches and team officials. Coaches often enter junior players' names. That information stays on the coach's device, but please follow your club's policies on players' information, and consider using first names or nicknames if you prefer. DugOut isn't designed for children to use themselves.

The website

The DugOut website and app are hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't add analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and the site loads nothing from other companies.

Emails you send us

If you email us, we'll use your email address and message only to reply and to help you. We won't add you to a mailing list or share your details.

Deleting your information

Because everything is on your device, you're in control of it:

• In DugOut, go to Settings, Reset, and choose Erase everything on this device.
• Removing the app from your home screen, or clearing this site's data in your browser settings, also deletes it.
• Delete any backup or exported files you've saved.

To have your emails to us deleted, just ask.

Changes to this policy

If we change how DugOut handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
